Plush Perth penthouse with first-of-a-kind flying vehicle launchpad

In what is expected to be an Australian first, a flying vehicle launch pad will be constructed on the rooftop of a new North Fremantle apartment block.

The electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) space – similar to a rooftop helipad – will allow residents to catch flying taxis and collect drone deliveries, once the emerging mode of transport is approved and regulated in WA.

“This development will be the first in the country to have approved and built an electric vertical take-off landing station,” says selling agent Stephen Vitale, from Boutique Property Co – North Fremantle.

“It basically future-proofs for future passenger drone transport, which is now in testing in Dubai and other parts of the world. Companies like Rolls Royce, Airbus and Uber are engaging in a race to establish passenger drone transport and the Siskas development will be ahead of the curve in offering this sort of infrastructure.

“Passenger drones are in testing now and test flights are already happening in places in Dubai. We expect they will soon come to Australia.”

Designed in collaboration with architects Fred Zuideveld and Craig Steere, The Siskas complex will include 55 apartments and penthouse suites, including a futuristic electric vertical take-off landing station exclusively for the three penthouses.

Just one of the three penthouse suites remains for sale. The price is $5.25 million.

“It’s an extremely special property,” says Vitale. “It will be the most substantial genuine penthouse apartment on the coast in Perth.”

He says the penthouse overlooks the Swan River and Indian Ocean, capitalising on “close to full 360 (degree) views”.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom suite has 435sqm of living space, 3.5m high ceilings, two separate living areas, stone laid balconies and a marble-lined kitchen with a scullery and high quality appliances.

There is parking for three vehicles and a lock-up store room.

Siskas will be the final apartment tower of the Taskers residential development, which sits on the site of former Australian yachtsman and Olympic medallist Rolly Tasker’s sailmaking business.

Vitale says construction will start in September, with a scheduled completion date of mid-2021.
